No. We call this position spamming and have built in controls to prevent either party from being able to put incrementally adjusted numbers into the platform or “game” the system. Parties must take turns entering their threshold amounts into StreamSettle, so neither side can go twice in a row. StreamSettle is a threshold test, not a negotiation tool. And while beginner users will sometimes go back and forth for multiple rounds before reaching settlements, they soon find that the best method is to enter your true threshold amount the first time to optimize efficiency and drastically increase your chances of reaching a settlement.

StreamSettle now offers a “Close Enough is Good Enough,” option on the platform. If both parties select this option, they will be notified when their numbers are within 20% of each other. For example, the payor enters $80,000 and the payee enters $100,000; the parties will be notified of a “close enough” detection and will know they’re in the same ballpark. Parties’ numbers will remain concealed, however, they can easily do some backwards math to determine their opponents’ max distance apart from their own number. StreamSettle charges a fee of 1% of the value entered from each party when a “close enough” settlement is detected. Parties can continue to use StreamSettle until a true overlap is reached at no additional charge, or most often, they just hop on the phone to meet in the middle and close out the gap.

This is the number you likely wouldn’t reveal to your opponent until the latest stages of the litigation process, if ever. StreamSettle is not a negotiation tool to compare exaggerated offers and demands; it’s a threshold test to compare the payor’s true top authority against the payee’s true bottom line.

No, but the settlement agreements StreamSettle generates do contemplate a formal release exchange.

Absolutely not. All collected data will be stored on users’ accounts in their claims lists for as long as their accounts are active. However, StreamSettle has a strict policy to never package and/or sell any data collected on the StreamSettle platform whatsoever. Please note that StreamSettle does not have access to TST submissions (see terms on confidentiality).
